Well just like any profession, being an orthodontist is a business. The more experience and clients you have the higher your salary could be.
If you are fresh out of school and working under another orthodontist, the average salary is said to be the upper 5 figures. Of course with years behind you, a pay raise can be expected to get you in the 6 figures in no time.
We have found the most financially successful orthodontist is the ones that start their own practice. Some even go as far to have a practice in every county close to their home, sometimes driving over 100 miles to a separate office just to maintain a larger client base.
